A Major Expansion Push For Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill

Desert Island Restaurants is beginning a major expansion push for its Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill concept, with the goal of having new locations coast-to-coast by 2013.

The fifth location of the popular Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill restaurant concept just opened in Boise, Idaho, joining existing locations in Phoenix and Chandler, Arizona, and two in Denver, Colorado. Another location in Anchorage, Alaska, is scheduled to open in the coming weeks.

Desert Island Restaurants is in talks with potential franchise partners in two additional markets, and is actively seeking out qualified, experienced restaurant industry veterans in markets across the country who are interested in the Ling & Louie’s concept.

The concept, created and owned by Scottsdale-based Desert Island Restaurants, LLC has been a hit because of its combination of energetic atmosphere, critically acclaimed cuisine and innovative drink menu.

The concept centers around Ling, a stubborn perfectionist from Shanghai, China, and Louie, a fun loving, all-American boy from Toledo, Ohio, who meet, fall in love and share their passion for food by opening an Asian restaurant that’s “Not for Boring People.”

“We believe this is the right time to look aggressively at expansion and really begin to roll out the Ling & Louie’s concept on a national scale,” says Randy Schoch, founder and CEO of Desert Island Restaurants.

“With some improvement in the economy recently, it’s a chance for us to find qualified partners who can bring this concept to life in a variety of different markets.”

Another strength of the Ling & Louie’s concept is that it works in a wide variety of locations, Schoch says. The Boise location is a standalone restaurant, while the Phoenix location is inside a casino and the Scottsdale and Denver locations are inside retail centers.

“We’ve also been in talks with some potential partners about airport locations, so there really is no limit to the concept and where it can work,” Schoch says.

Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill was created and founded in 2006 by veteran and award-winning restaurateur Randy Schoch, owner and CEO of Desert Island Restaurants. Ling & Louie’s currently has plans to franchise and expand nationwide.

Desert Island Restaurants, LLC is a management entity that oversees operations of five franchised Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses and two Romano’s Macaroni Grill locations throughout the Hawaiian Islands, the Thaifoon-Taste of Asia in Salt Lake City, Utah, and, most recently, Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill
