Lettuce Entertain You's Bar Ramone Opens in Chicago’s River North

Bar Ramone opens for dinner Thursday night in Chicago’s River North neighborhood (441 N. Clark Street), and is Lettuce Entertain You’s first wine bar. The concept was created by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs, Chefs/Partners Doug Psaltis and Hisanobu Osaka, and Associate Partners Richard Hanauer and Ryan Arnold.

The wine program is curated by Ryan Arnold (Wine Enthusiast ‘40 Under 40 Tastemaker’) and Richard Hanauer (Food & Wine ‘Sommelier of the Year’) and features a wine list of just over 100 bottles of wine designed to be both approachable and exciting to wine enthusiasts.

“We didn’t want our list to be intimidating,” says Arnold. “We have created a collection that really showcases what Richard and I would choose to drink at a wine bar.”

The selection spotlights small, sought-after producers like Clos Cibonne, Jean-Louis Chave, and Jacques Selosse as well as selections from regions that Ryan and Richard love like Burgundy, Piedmont and Rhône. Spanish Porróns with assorted styles of Txakoli are featured on the menu for those looking for some more fun at the table, accompanied by red, white and sparklings by the glass.

The small plates menu, created by Hisanobu Osaka and Doug Psaltis has the heart and soul of Spanish tapas. Expect classics like Spicy Padron Peppers and Bonito, Mushroom Pinxto with garlic butter sauce and house-baked Pan Con Tomate with anchovies, manchego or jamon serrano. For a modern approach, enjoy favorites like Tomato, Yuzu and Basil, Bloody Mary Shrimp, Japanese Ice Fish and Patatas Bravas with smoked paprika aioli.

Bar Ramone is now open for dinner service Monday-Thursday from 4PM-11PM, Friday and Saturday from 4PM-Midnight and Sunday from 4PM-10PM. All tables are first come first serve.
