7shifts, a leading labor management platform for restaurants, announced their release of 7shifts for Education—a selection of programs to empower hospitality students and academic professionals.
“Given the growing interest of people looking to grow their skills in the restaurant industry, it's important that 7shifts uses its years of knowledge and equip people with the appropriate tools and education to give them a leg-up," says Jordan Boesch, CEO of 7shifts.
Scholarships
The 7shifts Culinary and Hospitality Management Scholarships award funding to full-time culinary and hospitality students at any nationally recognized postsecondary institution. 7shifts is looking to award the scholarship to passionate individuals entering the hospitality industry, and the application includes a short video overview of their background and interest in the industry. The scholarship program provides two students each a $1,000 bursary for their tuition.
7shifts in the Classroom
7shifts offers a free account to any class or professor who would like to use 7shifts to learn about labor management, scheduling, and communication in restaurants.

7shifts will be working this year on developing labor management and scheduling courses to provide both hospitality students to learn on their own, and for professors to utilize in the classroom to assist their lessons.
"Our vision has always been to make the restaurant industry part of a longer-term career path. Now we're looking to use our years of working with restaurant operators and employees to build course materials that will help people looking to grow their skills in the industry," Boesch says.
