Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouse Recognized by Healthy Dining Finder

The broad concept refresh launched three years ago at the iconic, 50-plus year Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouse brands included a culinary revitalization that modernized the menu with more relevant offerings including several healthier options. Today, that promise to deliver an enhanced menu around quality ingredients has landed several menu items on Healthy Dining Finder’s list of recommended selections. Menu items and meals featured on HealthyDiningFinder.com are handpicked by a team of registered dietitians and meet strict nutrition criteria.

“Recognizing several years ago that many of our guests were looking to incorporate healthier food and dining choices into their lifestyles, we embarked on a menu refresh that would satisfy those needs while still offering flavor, quality and affordability,” says Tom Sacco, CEO, Homestyle Dining, which owns, operates and franchises the Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouse brands. “We are delighted to be recognized by such a credible organization as Healthy Dining, and we will continue to evaluate our menu so we can add even more Healthy Dining options very soon.”

Healthy Dining Finder’s recommendations on the food bars at Ponderosa and Bonanza are: one cup of Caesar Salad, one piece of Herb Baked Chicken, one-half cup of fresh strawberries, and one cup of Italian pasta salad. According to Healthy Dining, the meal is well-rounded with vegetables, a lean protein and fruit.

Also on Healthy Dining’s list are Grilled Salmon with Baked Potato, which features a meal of grilled, heart-healthy salmon served with a baked potato with whipped spread, and a fresh garden salad. Those looking for healthier options will also enjoy the Grilled Chicken and Baked Potato. This meal includes a tender, grilled chicken breast served with a baked potato with whipped spread and sour cream, and a garden salad. As noted on HealthyDiningFinder.com, lean protein such as chicken helps to satisfy hunger to support a healthy weight.
